Assistant Management Accountant
Southern End of the Gold Coast - Bilinga

Oceania Ground Force is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is responsible for monthly financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, tax compliance, and accounts management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:

    • Preparation and review of end-of-month reporting requirements.
    • Producing accurate monthly financial results.
    • Analysing financial data and providing insights to support decision-making.
  • General Ledger Maintenance:

    • Maintenance of the General Ledger.
    • Reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Tax Management:

    • Management of tax obligations (BAS/IAS).
    • Ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Accounts Management:

    • Preparation of various invoices.
    • Assist the Accounts Receivable function.
    • Assistance with Payroll and Accounts Payable roles.
  • Asset Management:

    • Maintenance of the Asset Register.
    • Tracking and managing company assets.
  • Administrative Duties:

    • Performance of ad-hoc administrative duties.
    • Assistance to the CFO as required.

Competencies:

  • Analytical Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Attention to Detail:

    • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Technical Proficiency:

    • High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
    • Competency in using accounting software.
  • Communication Skills:

    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Integrity and Professionalism:

    • High level of integrity and professionalism.
    • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Adaptability:

    • Ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting and general accounting.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger, reconciliations, and tax compliance.
  • High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Understanding of payroll principles.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with NetSuite.
  • Experience with HumanForce.

Reporting Line: The Assistant Management Accountant reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

 

Work Environment: The position is based at the southern end of the Gold Coast. The role involves working within a small team but also requires the ability to work autonomously. The Assistant Management Accountant will engage with various departments within the company to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with tax obligations.
